Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 120 Liters - Green - Medium - No. 02 is a harmoniously matched combination for a well-balanced planted aquarium. The set includes Micranthemum tweediei ("Monte Carlo 3"), Pogostemon helferi, Anubias barteri var. nana, Bolbitis heudelotii, Hygrophila polysperma, Ceratopteris thalictroides as well as Aegagropila linnaei. The moss balls complete the set as a living decoration and add natural accents to the aquarium.
This set is aimed at hobbyists who already have some experience in aquarium keeping. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilization 2–3× per week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Micranthemum tweediei ("Monte Carlo 3") is a versatile carpeting plant from South America that forms dense, flat creeping carpets. The rounded leaves stay small and rich green. Regular trimming creates a compact lawn that ideally adorns the foreground.
Pogostemon helferi has characteristically crinkled, light green leaves and grows compactly in the foreground to midground. Under medium lighting it forms decorative cushions that give structure to any layout. With added CO2 the plant shows particularly strong coloration.
Anubias barteri var. nana is a robust, slow-growing epiphyte. It thrives on roots and stones and needs only little light. Its dark green foliage brings calm to the layout and provides contrast to lighter species.
Bolbitis heudelotii, the African water fern, impresses with translucent, finely pinnate fronds. It grows best attached to roots and loves soft, slightly acidic water. With added CO2 it develops vigorous, fresh shoots.
Hygrophila polysperma is a fast-growing, undemanding stem plant from Asia. It helps bind excess nutrients and thus prevents algae. Its light green, fresh appearance livens up the background area and promotes biological stability.
Ceratopteris thalictroides is a large-leaved, finely feathered aquatic plant that can be cultivated either planted or floating. It grows quickly, even without CO2 fertilization, forming dense, light green fronds that give the aquarium a natural depth. With sufficient lighting it thrives particularly vigorously and, thanks to its fast nutrient consumption, helps stabilize the biological balance.
The moss ball Aegagropila linnaei serves as a decorative addition that can be placed freely in the aquarium. The result is a natural-looking, balanced layout that combines stability and vitality.
