Description
The Aquatic Plants Set 120 Litres Colourful Medium No. 08 was assembled for colourful and varied aquascapes in medium-sized aquariums. The combination of red stem plants, finely structured background plants and compact foreground species creates a vivid overall appearance with strong contrasts. The set includes Alternanthera reineckii 'Rosanervig', Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini', Pogostemon deccanensis ("erectus"), Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Hydrocotyle tripartita, Cyperus helferi and Anubias barteri var. nana. Thanks to the different growth forms and leaf structures, this set is particularly suitable for modern nature aquariums and detailed layouts with a strong sense of depth.
This set is intended for people who already have experience in aquatics. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2–3 times per week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Alternanthera reineckii 'Rosanervig' impresses with its striking red-violet leaves and distinctly lighter leaf veins. The plant forms upright stems and adds intense colour accents to the midground or background. With good lighting and a sufficient nutrient supply, it develops particularly vibrant colours.
Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' is a compact variety of the popular red Alternanthera species. It grows significantly lower and is ideal for the midground or for smaller accents in the foreground. Regular trimming promotes a dense and bushy growth habit.
Pogostemon deccanensis ("erectus") is characterised by its strictly upright growth and needle-like light green leaves. The plant creates a striking vertical structure in the background of the aquarium. It looks especially decorative in group plantings and provides a natural sense of depth.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis forms grass-like runners and is ideal for planting the foreground. Its narrow grass-like leaves give the aquarium a natural appearance. Under good conditions, the plant can gradually form a dense carpet.
Hydrocotyle tripartita is a fast-growing and highly versatile stem plant with characteristic small clover-shaped leaves. It is suitable for both the foreground and creative transitions between different layout areas. Its creeping growth habit allows particularly natural-looking structures to be created.
Cyperus helferi has long narrow leaves that sway elegantly in the current. The plant is excellent as a background plant in larger aquariums and adds movement and dynamism to the layout. Its unusual shape clearly distinguishes it from classic stem plants.
Anubias barteri var. nana is a robust and slow-growing epiphyte with dark green sturdy leaves. It is ideal for attaching to wood or stones and also thrives well in shaded areas. Due to its resilience, it is one of the most popular aquarium plants. The result is a high-contrast plant set with red colour accents, different leaf structures and varied growth forms for harmonious aquascapes in 120-litre aquariums.
