Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 120 Liters - Colorful - Easy - No. 08 is ideal for beginners in the aquarium hobby who want to bring their aquarium to life with colorful, easy-to-care-for plants. The set includes Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus", Cryptocoryne wendtii "brown", Cryptocoryne x willisii "nevillii", Echinodorus "Rainers Kitty", Ludwigia "Rubin", Limnophila sessiliflora and Ludwigia palustris "Super Red". The selection provides harmonious color contrasts of rich green and strong red and is therefore ideal for a natural, lively appearance.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus" is a low-growing dwarf sword plant from Central and South America. It forms light green, lanceolate leaves and, through numerous runners, quickly grows together into a dense lawn-like carpet. The species is robust, easy to care for and ideal as a carpeting plant for the foreground.
Cryptocoryne wendtii "brown" is a proven and adaptable aquarium plant with characteristically wavy, brown leaves. It thrives in low to medium light and tolerates a wide range of water parameters. Thanks to its compact growth, it is ideally suited for the midground and a classic for easy-care layouts.
Cryptocoryne x willisii "nevillii" is one of the uncomplicated species from Sri Lanka and slowly grows into dense groups. Its medium green to slightly reddish leaves stay low and give structure to the midground. It is undemanding, also tolerates low lighting and forms decorative runners over time.
Echinodorus "Rainers Kitty" is a compact sword plant with elliptical, wine-red leaves that appear particularly bright under intense lighting. At about 15 cm in height, it stays small, which makes it well suited for the midground. The variety is easy to care for and, with its strong coloration, adds an elegant accent to the aquarium.
Ludwigia "Rubin" is an attractive, red-colored stem plant that develops strong hues even under medium lighting. It grows quickly, is easy to care for and, with its wine-red foliage, provides strong contrasts to green plants. Regular trimming promotes bushy growth and maintains the color intensity.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fast-growing, light green stem plant from Southeast Asia that captivates with its fine, feathery leaf structure. It thrives in soft to hard water and is ideally suited for the start-up phase of new aquariums. Its dense growth helps bind nutrients and thus effectively prevents algae.
Ludwigia palustris "Super Red" is a small-leaved, intensely red stem plant that develops strong colors even at medium light intensity. It grows upright, branches well and is easy to propagate from cuttings. This richly colored species sets striking accents in the midground to background and harmoniously rounds off the overall picture. The result is a harmonious, easy-to-care-for planted aquarium with a natural variety of colors and a lively character.
