The Aquarium Plant Set 120 Litres Green Medium No. 05 was specially designed for medium-sized aquariums and combines different growth forms, leaf structures and shades of green into a harmonious overall layout. The set includes Rotala rotundifolia, Eleocharis sp. 'Mini', Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae, Cryptocoryne x willisii "nevillii", Microsorum pteropus, Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis" as well as Aegagropila linnaei. The combination of background, midground and epiphytic plants allows for a natural and varied aquascape with dense planting and calm contrasts. The moss balls complete the set as living decoration.
This set is aimed at aquarists who already have some experience in aquarium keeping. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2–3 times per week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Rotala rotundifolia is a fast-growing stem plant with delicate, rounded leaves that can develop green to slightly reddish tones depending on the light intensity. It is ideal for the background and adds structure and depth to the aquarium with its bushy growth habit. Regular trimming encourages dense and compact growth.
Eleocharis sp. 'Mini' forms a low, grass-like carpet and is ideal for the foreground of aquascapes. The plant grows compactly and creates a natural meadow-like appearance in the aquarium. With sufficient lighting and CO2, it develops particularly dense cushions.
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae features long, narrow and slightly wavy leaves that create an elegant appearance. It is perfectly suited for the background of larger aquariums and adds vertical accents to the layout. The plant grows slowly to moderately and prefers stable water conditions.
Cryptocoryne x willisii "nevillii" is a robust rosette plant with narrow green leaves and compact growth. It is particularly suitable for the foreground to midground and also thrives under lower lighting conditions. This species is considered easy to care for and highly adaptable.
Microsorum pteropus is a classic Java fern that is attached to wood or stones as an epiphytic plant. It is extremely hardy and requires very little maintenance, making it ideal for long-term aquascapes. Its strong green leaves create natural accents in the midground and background.
Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis" is a decorative epiphytic plant with attractive, slightly shimmering leaves. It grows slowly and is perfect for attaching to hardscape such as driftwood and stones. Its compact growth adds detailed accents to the aquarium layout.
The moss ball Aegagropila linnaei serves as a decorative addition that can be freely placed within the aquarium. It creates natural contrasts and visually softens the overall appearance. At the same time, it provides additional surface structure for shrimp and small aquarium inhabitants. The result is a harmoniously planted aquarium with natural depth and varied structure.
