Description
This undemanding stem plant is likely a variant of Hygrophila polysperma. It is still new to the aquarium hobby and was probably also introduced with the name Hygrophila sp. 'Thai'. This Hygrophila features quite broad, oval, brown leaves with slight marbling and lighter nerves. The stems grow partly horizontal to ascending, forming loose, broad bushes.

Hygrophila sp. "Brown" grows well with medium lighting; optimal growth is achieved by CO2 injection and good nutrient supply. Trimming promotes the development of side shoots and a bushier growth.

With its loose, bushy, somewhat irregular habit, this Hygrophila is well placed in the midground. With its coloration, It contrasts to light green plants. This fast-growing plant is also recommendable for freshly set-up tanks.

This was the first time I bought in-vitro plants, among other things. At first it seemed very tedious to portion the tiny little plants. After planting they also looked minuscule. (read more)

Deep brown leaves with no visible deficiency symptoms, six stems 15-20 cm in size. The plant meets expectations. (read more)

At first it didn't really want to take root, but after I turned the light output up a bit it developed great. Thanks to constantly new plantlets I have whole bushes in my tank. (read more)
