The Japanese manufacturer Aqua Design Amano regularly shares useful knowledge and product information on how to set up or maintain Nature Aquariums or aqua-terrariums. This time we present the LIGHT SCREEN, an LED background light for the aquarium. It will be in stores this winter. With it, you can underline the beauty of your Nature Aquarium and take much better aquarium photos.

The LIGHT SCREEN can be attached to the aquarium very easily with hooks. Here you see an example picture. A film sheet with a blue gradient is included in the scope of delivery.

The background is of great importance in a Nature Aquarium.

The Nature Aquarium shows a natural landscape in a glass, and ideally we keep the aquarium and all accessories as simple as possible so as not to distract from it. This is why ADA developed the rimless aquarium "Cube Garden" with fine silicone bonding as well as other glass accessories, such as the Pollen Glass and the Lily Pipe. ADA also offers the Aqua Screen, an aquarium background that covers the wallpaper or other things behind the aquarium that would otherwise visually ruin the aquascape. We also carried the sandblasted background Cube Garden Mist for a while. For Takashi Amano, the design of the back wall was very important because it influences the effect of the aquascape. In his early creative period he liked to photograph aquariums in front of a black background; later he often used white surfaces or a blue gradient as well. With every background (except black films), however, it is important to light it intensively - which can be quite laborious and difficult in private homes. If you simply hang a white or colored film behind the aquarium, the background looks dull, and in photos the aquascape does not look nearly as good as in Amano's beautiful pictures. For this reason ADA developed the LIGHT SCREEN. Here we use LED lighting for the aquarium background: for more beautiful aquascaping photos and, of course, generally for a more beautiful presence of your layout.

Easy-to-install LED background lighting for the aquarium

The LIGHT SCREEN 60 fits standard aquariums with a length of 60 and a height of 36 cm, the LIGHT SCREEN 90 aquariums with a length of 90 cm and a height of 45 cm. Thanks to LED technology, the screen is not bulky (only approx. 6 mm), so it also fits behind aquariums that stand close to a wall. It is equipped with a dimmer so that you can set exactly the brightness that suits your aquascape. The brightness can also be adjusted to the lighting for the ideal photo. With the LIGHT SCREEN, you can create not only a white background but also a gradation of different shades of blue. A corresponding film sheet is included for this. This film adheres electrostatically and can be used several times. It can be attached so that the blue part is either at the top or at the bottom - so you can vary the color gradient to your taste. In Amano's later pictures you can see examples of this. For use with the LIGHT SCREEN, we recommend the AQUASKY G or the SOLAR RGB as lighting, which nicely brings out the colors of the fish and plants. Dive into Amano's world - simple and relaxed!

When the LIGHT SCREEN is switched off, the background is rather dark, not white.

When the LIGHT SCREEN is on, the background is bathed in bright, pure white light (with dimmer function).

The "Amano blue" can be created very easily with the LIGHT SCREEN and the enclosed color film.

If you turn the color film over, you get a blue in the background that becomes lighter toward the top.
