Does Purigen remove the tint from humins that I find pleasant?

Seachem Purigen also removes humic substances and other related organic substances.

Good morning, can I use it in the bag in an internal filter of a Juwel aquarium?

The 100 ml Purigen in the bag can be used in place of a sponge in a Juwel Bioflow filter. Here is a useful article from our wiki: https://www.aquasabi.business/aquascaping-wiki_filterung_seachem-purigen

I use the Twinstar M3 sterilizer in my aquarium. Can I also use Seachem Purigen?

Seachem Purigen can also be used together with a sterilizer or UVC clarifier.

Can Purigen also be combined with JBL products? I mainly use JBL for water and plant care!

Seachem Purigen removes humic substances and other related organic substances. It has no significant effect on iron and other trace elements that are important for the growth of aquatic plants. Here is also a link to the article "Seachem Purigen - Always Clear Water" https://www.aquasabi.business/aquascaping-wiki_filterung_seachem-purigen

How does it behave in a 230l saltwater aquarium? Does it remove trace elements the corals need?

Purigen has almost no effect on trace elements (since these are mineral rather than organic) and only removes precursors of ammonium, nitrite and nitrate. Ammonium, nitrite and nitrate themselves are not removed, nor is phosphate. Mainly water discoloration and organic compounds are removed.

Can Seachem Purigen be put into storage again after regenerating it? Then I could buy several bags so that I always have a fresh bag at hand when I clean the filter.

After regenerating, the Purigen should be sealed airtight with a little residual moisture. This way the beads do not dry out too much and do not slip through the mesh of the bag.

Hello, can Purigen be stored dry or does it have to stay moist?

If Purigen dries out, the beads shrink so much in size that they can trickle through the mesh bag (included with the 100 ml portion). Some residual moisture is a great advantage, but cleaning must be done very carefully so that no mold or similar forms.

I wanted to ask whether this product also absorbs iron, phosphate and nitrate??

Purigen removes organic substances before bacteria can convert them into ammonia, nitrite or nitrate, which leads to lower nitrate concentrations over time, but it does not remove this nutrient directly from the water. Iron and phosphate are also not absorbed by Purigen.

Hello, how much Purigen do I need for an Oase Biomaster 350, which is currently mounted on a Dennerle 55 l aquarium? Thanks in advance.

For a 55 liter aquarium, 100ml of Purigen is completely sufficient.

I have a Biomaster 600 running on my 450 l aquarium. How many ml would I need for this filter, and where is the best place to put it? Best regards

A 100-ml bag cleans and clarifies a maximum of 400 liters of water for up to six months. After this period, the Purigen must be regenerated with chlorine bleach. It is best to place the Purigen so that water can flow directly through the filter bag, for example below the impeller/rotor in the top filter basket.

Does this resin also remove humins, humic acids and fulvic acids? I'm wondering whether I can have clear water despite using liquid Humin??

Seachem Purigen also removes humins and other related organic substances.

Description

Purigen is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others by over 500%. Purigen® controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds. Purigen's impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Purigen® darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with bleach. Purigen® is designed for both marine and freshwater use.

I have a Dennerle corner filter. Can I just tie the pad to the filter inlet? I assume it doesn't fit inside the filter.

Seachem Purigen is not suitable for tying to the filter inlet. There is a high risk that the bag will tear and contaminate the tank.

Only the 100ml Seachem comes in a bag. For the other sizes you need the Seachem - The Bag, which is available separately here: https://www.aquasabi.business/Seachem-The-Bag-Filterbeutel. Before use, the Purigen in the bag should be rinsed with tap water.

Does Purigen affect the filter bacteria, and if so, may I place Purigen in one of the middle filter baskets? Happy Easter

Seachem Purigen does not affect the bacteria. However, it should be placed in a spot with good flow in the filter. With the 100ml bag, the best spot is directly under the filter's rotor, so that practically all of the filter water has to flow through the Purigen.

Crystal-clear water

26th March

Seachem - Purigen - 100 ml in a bag

The Purigen comes in a handy bag and doesn't have to be laboriously packed first before it can go into the filter. (read more)

Glasklares Wasser
