Description
This well-growing swordplant cultivar has leaves with red-brown spots, as well as Echinodorus 'Ozelot', but differs by light to middle green basic colour, causing an especially contrasting pattern. Otherwise it is similar to the normal 'Ozelot': the submerged leaves are narrowly elliptic with wavy edge; the leaf rosette gets about 40-50 cm tall and 40 cm broad.
Also this Echinodorus is an easy aqurium plant, however it benefits much from bottom fertilization (e.g. by nutrition capsules) and medium to strong lighting.
The Green Ozelot swordplant looks best as a solitary plant or small, loose group in the midground to background of bigger, at least 50 cm high aquariums.
Echinodorus 'Ozelot Green', as it is called in the trade, is a colour form of the hybrid Echinodorus 'Ozelot' bred by Hans Barth in Dessau; growth habit and leaf shape match the original cultivar, only the colour differs.124 On the bright light to medium green blades with their wavy margin, the brownish to reddish brown spotting stands out particularly clearly; under intense, red-rich light, young leaves may turn slightly reddish.1234
The plant is regarded as uncomplicated and copes with very different conditions; nutrients in the substrate and additional fertilisation promote its growth. (read more)

Meine Lieblingspflanze - Vorsicht wird größer als angegeben
Ich bin Aquarianer seit über 30 Jahren. Und noch immer steh ich auf Schwertpflanzen.
Gegenüber Stängelpflanzen bieten sie einige Vorteile:
- keine ständige Rumgärtnerei
- große Pflanzenmasse
- durchwurzeln den Bodengrund
- recht unkompliziert
Plant came in excellent condition and looks pretty as a picture. :) Hoped that it would have been littlebit bigger, but no harm done. (read more)
