Description
The Cocoa leaves come from Sri Lanka. The leaves of the cocoa tree are versatile in aquaristics. They are very similar to sea almond tree leaves. Just like these, cocoa leaves have a high amount of humic substances. This property promotes the health of the aquarium inhabitatns.
For shrimps, the very slowly decomposing cocoa leaves form a natural hiding place and a near-natural replica of their habitat. At the same time, they serve as a food source. Microorganisms settle on their surface and form the optimal addition to any grazing water animal's diet. Their bright colouring also creates a beautiful effect in the aquarium.
Features
- High amount of humic substances
- The substances are only slowly released into the water
- Serve as hiding places for shrimps
- Provide micro-organism habitat as food for shrimp
- Authentic habitat design
Contents
100 % cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao), dried and in a resealable zip bag for ideal storage.

My Neocaridina love these leaves.

Sie lieben es
Meine Neoc. lieben diese Blätter.
The leaves are quite big (approx. 30-35 cm) and last quite a long time. I'd estimate around 2 months. (read more)

The leaves themselves are really big. I always soak leaves beforehand, and I observed that they release hardly any humic substances (at least not visibly). (read more)

Absolut riesig
