Description
The Chihiros Double Tap is a practical quick-release valve with two integrated shut-off taps designed for use in aquarium hose systems. It allows for clean disconnection of filter hoses, for example during regular water changes or maintenance of external filters, inline diffusers or other components. The dual shut-off mechanisms reliably interrupt the water flow before disconnection, preventing unwanted leakage of aquarium water.
Each tap can be opened or closed independently, allowing flexible handling during water changes – for instance, disconnecting one side while opening the other to drain water from the aquarium. Connected devices can be separated or replaced with just a few simple movements, without the need to remove or reroute hoses.
The robust construction and secure locking mechanism ensure a tight and reliable connection even with frequent use. The Double Tap is particularly suitable for freshwater aquariums with external filters or CO2 systems featuring inline diffusers or reactors, where simple and controlled hose disconnection is required.

I have nothing negative to report. The shut-off valve clearly looks great. It's smaller than others, so better in the cabinet. (read more)

Absolut fair
Ich habe nichts negatives zu berichten. Der Absperrhahn sieht optisch ganz klar top aus. Ist kleiner als andere, also besser im Unterschrank. Funktioniert und ist dicht, notfalls kann man es etwas abdichten. Das System ist ein bisschen kompliziert beim entkuppeln aber ansonsten funktioniert es einwandfrei. Bis jetzt keine dichtungsprobleme

Nicht zu empfehlen
Habe ganze Technik von Chihiros. Nach eheim die schnellkupplung versagt hat, wollte ich die von chihiros probieren.
Weiss nicht wie bei anderen sind aber bei mir nach der Trennung tropft es weiter!
Daher muss ich immer was drunter legen oder vom Filter die Anschluss entfernen.
Habe noch die ganz normalen China Teil die schwarzen der viel älter ist. Weder eheim oder chihiros hat die Dichtigkeit ausgehalten.

Schlecht verarbeitet und undurchdacht
Die Verarbeitungsqualität des Plastik-Doppelhahns wirkt billig. Die beiden Absperrventile haben keine Arretierung, so dass es möglich ist sie versehentlich so weit zu drehen dass das Wasser wieder fließt. Die Trennkupplung mit einem Doppelgewinde ist ebenfalls eine undurchdachtere Lösung als vergleichbare Produkte mit einem einzigen Gewinde - das rote Mittelstück kann verloren gehen.
