Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 60 Liters - Low Maintenance - No. 01 combines robust, easy-care species for a harmonious start. The set includes Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'), Bucephalandra sp. "Theia Green", Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green", Limnophila sessiliflora, Bacopa monnieri 'Compact' and Microsorum pteropus as well as Aegagropila linnaei. The selection covers the foreground, midground and background and makes a natural-looking layout possible with little effort. The moss balls complete the set as a living decoration.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing much prior knowledge of aquarium keeping or plant care. The selected plants need only low light and no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, have no high demands on water parameters and forgive care mistakes.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a particularly small-growing variety with very compact growth and firm, dark green leaves. It grows slowly and should be tied onto roots or stones, as the rhizome must not be planted in the substrate. Thanks to its robustness and decorative appearance it is ideal for hardscape details in the midground.
Bucephalandra sp. "Theia Green" is a compact Bucephalandra species with an upright, branched rhizome and narrow, elliptical leaves that shimmer from olive green to reddish. It grows slowly and prefers constant conditions with medium lighting, a CO2 supply and nutrient dosing. With consistent care it forms bushy, multi-headed groups that are particularly well suited for tying onto stones and wood in the midground.
Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green" is a classic, undemanding rosette plant from Asia that forms dense, green stands. Its lanceolate to elongated leaves can be slightly brownish, giving it natural color variations. It thrives in low lighting, tolerates soft to hard water and is ideal for the midground of beginner tanks.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fast-growing, finely feathered stem plant that stands out with its light green to slightly reddish coloration. It tolerates different water parameters, grows particularly densely under medium lighting and, through its high nutrient uptake, helps establish a stable biological balance. Thanks to its fast growth it is ideal for initial planting and for designing the background.
Bacopa monnieri 'Compact' is a compact variety of water hyssop that shows shorter internodes and a branched, bushy growth form. It grows across a wide temperature range but prefers medium light intensities and benefits from CO2 and nutrient dosing. Under good conditions it shows vigorous, light green foliage and is ideally suited for the midground to foreground.
Microsorum pteropus (Java fern) is known for its robustness and adaptability. It grows on roots and stones as well as on the substrate, but should not be buried there, as the rhizome can otherwise rot. With a good supply of nutrients and CO2 it develops sturdy, deep green leaves and forms dense clumps over time that can easily be propagated by dividing the rhizome.
The moss ball Aegagropila linnaei serves as a decorative addition that can be placed freely in the aquarium. The result is a harmoniously planted aquarium with easy-care plants.
