Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 30 Liters - Green - Medium - No. 08 is a balanced selection of harmoniously coordinated aquatic plants for small aquariums. The set includes Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'), Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis", Hygrophila corymbosa "Kompakt", Bacopa caroliniana and Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini'. The combination of compact foreground plants, structured midground species and color accents in the background creates a natural sense of depth and a varied design. Different leaf shapes, growth heights and shades of green create a lively overall picture.
This set is aimed at people who already have some experience in the aquarium hobby. The selected plants need medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilization 2-3x/week. The plants benefit from a regular supply of nutrients and stable water parameters.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis forms a dense, lawn-like foreground under good lighting. It has only modest requirements, but only develops a closed carpet with sufficient light. When planting, small portions are inserted with some spacing so that the plant can spread evenly.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a very small-leaved, robust epiphyte with slow growth. It copes with little light and does not need CO2, but benefits from a stable nutrient supply. The rhizome must not be buried in the substrate and is ideally attached to driftwood or stones.
Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis" impresses with its decorative leaves, some of which are dark purple with silvery dots. It grows slowly, but over time forms an attractive, branching group. A constant supply of CO2 and nutrients as well as medium lighting promote particularly intense coloration.
Hygrophila corymbosa "Kompakt" grows stocky and can easily be kept at a height of 6 to 10 cm. With regular trimming, it stays bushy and compact. It is easy to care for, but needs an adequate iron supply for vigorous growth.
Bacopa caroliniana is an upright-growing stem plant with strong, densely leaved shoots. Under stronger lighting, copper-red hues can develop. It is undemanding and grows even without CO2, but shows particularly lush growth when well supplied.
Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' sets striking color accents in the background with its reddish leaves. It needs sufficient light and benefits from CO2 supplementation and a nutrient-rich substrate. With optimal care, it develops compact, symmetrical shoots and provides a strong contrast to the green plants.
