The Aquarium Plant Set - 250 Liters - Low Maintenance - Green - No. 02 was developed especially for large aquariums where harmonious and easy-to-care-for planting is desired. The set includes Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'), Hygrophila corymbosa "Kompakt", Microsorum pteropus 'Trident', Bucephalandra sp. "Theia Green", Lysimachia nummularia, Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea', Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae and Microsorum pteropus. The carefully put together selection of plants creates a natural overall picture with fresh shades of green, clear structures and a balanced appearance in the aquarium.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a particularly small variety with very compact growth and firm, dark green leaves. It grows slowly and should be tied onto roots or stones, as the rhizome must not be planted in the substrate. Thanks to its robustness and decorative appearance, it is ideal for hardscape details in the midground.
Hygrophila corymbosa "Kompakt" is a compact-growing variety of the widespread temple plant or giant hygrophila. It reaches a height of only about 6–10 cm and forms short internodes, creating dense cushions. Its light green leaves and stocky growth make it ideal for the midground of larger aquariums.
Microsorum pteropus 'Trident' is a finely pinnate variety of the popular Java fern. Its narrow, multi-lobed leaves give the aquarium a light, delicate structure. It grows reliably even in low light and can be attached very well to roots or stones.
Bucephalandra sp. "Theia Green" is a small to medium-sized epiphyte with a firm rhizome and dark green leaves. It originally comes from the island of Borneo and is known for its slow, compact growth form. Thanks to its subtle coloring, it blends in perfectly with the midground of the aquarium.
Lysimachia nummularia, also known as moneywort, is an aquarium plant from Europe. Underwater, it grows upright with round, fresh green leaves and forms dense stands in the background. It is robust, easy to care for and copes very well even in cooler tanks.
Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is the golden yellow variety of the classic moneywort. It has the same requirements as the green form, but needs good lighting to maintain its bright yellow-green color. This variety brings radiant contrasts and provides lively highlights in the background of the aquarium.
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae is an elegant, large-leaved aquatic plant from Thailand. Its long, wavy leaves form impressive clumps that give the aquarium depth. It grows slowly, is very adaptable and robust.
Microsorum pteropus, the classic Java fern, is one of the best-known aquarium plants of all. Its broad, dark green leaves and strong rhizome make it a long-lived, easy-to-care-for epiphyte. It thrives even without CO2 supplementation and harmoniously rounds off the overall picture of the plant set. The result is a green, structured aquarium that stays attractive in the long term with little effort.
