Description
The Aquael UV Sterilisation Light - Mini is an exceptional device. Inside are four low energy, UV-light-emitting LEDs that sterilise the water on exit. The installation works without further ado and also easy. The steriliser is simply plugged onto the filter outlet.
The Aquael - UV - Sterilisation lamp - mini is compatible with the following Aquael filters:
Additional maintenance is not nessessary as the LEDs are long lasting. Since the power supply is independent of the filter, sterilisation can be switched on or off any time.
Since the unit is very small, it does not disturb the design of the aquarium.

Funktioniert super gegen Schwebealgen und Bakterien
Ich habe das Gerät gekauft, weil ein 20 Liter Fensterbankaquarium eine starke Belastung mit Schwebealgen hatte (Sichtweite ca 1 cm). Ich hatte es erst mit Wasserflöhen versucht, aber die Schwebealgen kamen zurück.
Dann habe ich dieses Gerät gekauft und mit etwas Bastelei an eine Strömungspumpe gesteckt, auf niedrigster Stufe. Lange Zeit ist nichts passiert, aber nach 6-7 Tagen wurde das Wasser schlagartig klar.
Seitdem sind die Schwebealgen nicht zurückgekommen.
Das Gerät scheint nach allem was ich herausfinden konnte mit UVA Dioden zu arbeiten, die in Wasser Hydroxyl-Radikale erzeugen. Die Wirkungsweise entspricht damit also nicht einem UVC Klärer, der die DNS von Bakterien und Schwebealgen zerstört, sondern ist vergleichbar mit Sterilisatoren, die mit Elektrolyse oder Wasserstoffperoxid arbeiten.

Für kleine Becken sehr empfehlenswert
Ich habe gezögert das Gerät zu kaufen, da die Meinungen im Netz, ob es denn funktioniert oder nicht, sehr kontrovers sind.
Meine Erfahrung: Ich hatte ca. für einen Monat eine heftige Bakterienblüte (milchiges Wasser) in einem 30er Cube die von selbst nicht verschwand. Nach zwei Tagen Anwendung mit dem Aquael UV Klärer an einem Dennerle Eckfilter war das Wasser kristallklar. Also von meiner Seite ein klares Ja zum Gerät.
Das ein so schwaches Gerät in einem Aquarium mit mehr als 200l nicht funktioniert, wie manche schreiben, dürfte wohl auch ziemlich klar sein und ist ein Problem des Anwenders und nicht des Gerätes. Meiner Einschätzung nach sollten maximal 50l nicht überschritten werden.

Nicht zu empfehlen
Ich hatte mehr als 4 Wochen eine Algenblüte. Daraufhin habe ich mir einen UVC-klärer mir 24W ins Aquarium gehängt. Nach erfolgreicher Bekämpfung (ca. 15 Tage) der Algenblüte war das Wasser glasklar und ich habe den UVC-klärer wieder herausgenommen.
Um ein wiederaufkommen der Alge zu verhindern, entschied ich mich nun für den Aquael UV Mini. Da mein Aquarium mit eine Größe von 288 Liter sehr groß ist, installierte ich gleich 2 Aquael UV Mini Module. Nach ca. anderthalb Wochen klares Wasser, wurde das Wasser wieder innerhalb von 3 Tagen stark trüb. Danke Aquael für dieses Sch... Produkt!
